Notification Channels

In-App Notifications

Email Notifications

  • Summary digests
  • Critical alerts

SMS Notifications

  • Urgent alerts only
  • On-call notifications
  • Requires phone verification

Configuring Notifications

  1. Navigate to Settings > Notifications
  2. Select notification type
  3. Choose delivery channels
  4. Set frequency preferences
  5. Configure quiet hours
  6. Save preferences

Notification Categories

  • Critical Alerts: Patient deterioration, falls, sepsis
  • System Alerts: Integration issues, data delays
  • Administrative: Reports ready, user management
  • Reminders: Follow-ups, care plan reviews

Escalation Rules

Set up automatic escalation:

  1. Initial notification to primary user
  2. If not acknowledged in X minutes, escalate
  3. Continue up the chain as defined
