Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication

Why Use 2FA?
Two-factor authentication significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access, even if your password is compromised.

Authenticator App (Recommended)
- Google Authenticator
- Microsoft Authenticator
- Authy
- 1Password
SMS Verification
- Backup option
- Requires verified phone number
Hardware Security Keys
- FIDO2/WebAuthn compatible
- YubiKey, Google Titan
Setup Instructions
Authenticator App
- Go to Settings > Security
- Click "Enable Two-Factor Authentication"
- Select "Authenticator App"
- Scan the QR code with your app
- Enter the verification code
- Save backup codes securely
SMS Verification
- Go to Settings > Security
- Click "Enable Two-Factor Authentication"
- Select "SMS"
- Enter your phone number
- Verify with the code sent
Backup Codes
- Generate 10 backup codes
- Store them securely offline
- Each code can only be used once
- Regenerate if compromised
Recovery Options
If you lose access to your 2FA method:
- Use a backup code
- Contact your administrator
- Verify identity through support
